At the CFCF2025 Optical Connectivity Conference held on June 17, SONT participated in the 1.6T/800G high-speed optical module interoperability test organized by the event host. Multiple 800G optical module products from SONT successfully achieved seamless interoperability with mainstream switches and NICs from Nvidia, H3C, Infrawaves, and Delta.
This interoperability test attracted active participation from 13 optical module manufacturers (including SONT), 4 switch platforms, 3 fiber connector manufacturers, and 3 test instrument vendors. The testing focused on 800G and 1.6T series products, covering modules such as 800G SR8, DR8, 2xFR4, and 1.6T OSFP224G DR8. It also included modules featuring EML, SiPh, and mainstream DPO/LPO/LRO architectures.

SONT 800G Optical Modules
SONT's test submissions included 800G OSFP 2xVR4, 2xDR4, and 2xFR4 modules, spanning three major platforms: VCSEL, Silicon Photonics (SiPh), and EML. Comprehensive testing confirmed that SONT modules are fully compatible with multiple hardware platforms, support full-load operations, and maintain stable performance under high-speed data transmission. Moreover, the modules successfully interoperated with products from 12 other brands, highlighting SONT's commitment to openness and robust stability.
Performance Highlights of SONT 800G Optical Modules
· High Performance: Pre-FEC BER < 1E-9 @ 0–70°C, significantly improving link quality
· Low Power Consumption: Developed using 5nm DSP, with power consumption under 15W—addressing power efficiency demands
· Wide Coverage: Supports interconnect distances from 30m (short-reach) to 500m–2km (mid-reach), ideal for building high-performance AI networks
· Versatility: Supports breakout, rate reduction, Infiniband, and Ethernet to meet diverse application needs
· Platform-Based Design: Enables cost-effective and rapid delivery through scalable platform architecture and processes
This successful interoperability certification not only validates the stability and compatibility of SONT’s 800G optical modules but also demonstrates their value as flexible and reliable optical connectivity solutions for AI computing centers, cloud data centers, and beyond.
Looking ahead, SONT will continue to invest in the development of high-speed optical modules to help global customers break through computing power bottlenecks and build efficient, green, and sustainable communication networks, injecting new momentum into the high-quality growth of the digital economy.
